While accuracy is important, these are large projects and the environment is a lot less stressful than some other repair type work that requires fast turnaround. Also, this company has a 5 year backlog of work, so you will have long term employment and will not be subject to layoffs or seasonal workload variation.
Must have at least 4 years experience with lathes and mills and be familiar with working with stainless steel and aluminum alloys. Willing to work all shifts and weekends. If coming from out of the area, a relocation package will be considered. Will need to pass preemployment drug screen and background check and must have an impeccable attendance record.

Madden is searching for a Manual Machinist to join the team of this client company.-
1. The Manual Machinist (No CNC at all in shop) primary responsibility will be machining parts for jobs in the shop and outside projects. 90% of all project work is from the Marine industry.
2. Will be working on a Giddings Lewis Horizontal Mill, Birmingham Vertical Mill, and two additional lathe machines.
3. The ideal candidate with be able to take apart an anchor winch, figure out what is wrong, fabricate any part that needs replaced, and put it all back together, without any help or direction.

This position requires the assembly of several parts into a controler base or box. It houses a motor, piping/hoses, mechanical arms, electrical boards and components, wiring, screws, nuts, bolts and other types of fasteners.
Some components are pre-built at other locations and purchased for easy assembly.
